About Lakshadweep
Lakshadweep is India's smallest union territory: thirty-six islands with a combined land area of about thirty-two square kilometres, scattered across the Arabian Sea a few hundred kilometres off the Kerala coast. They are coral atolls, low to the water and ringed by lagoon.
Access is controlled and only a few of the islands are open to visitors at all. That restriction is the reason the reef is in the condition it is, and it shapes how any journey here has to be arranged.
